The Four I's framework.
We assess Digital Product Passport readiness through four lenses: Identity, Integrity, Intelligence and Impact. Each addresses a distinct question a passport must answer.
Identity: Is the product uniquely and persistently identified? Unique identifiers, data carriers and the links between physical product and digital record.
Integrity: Can the data be trusted? Evidence, verification, chain of custody and the audit trail behind every claim.
Intelligence: Does the data work for the business? Turning passport fields into insight for sourcing, compliance and commercial decisions.
Impact: Does it measure what matters? Environmental and social outcomes, accounted for through defensible MRV rather than estimation.
Identity and Integrity are assessed against open standards, including UNTP, so passports remain interoperable across systems and borders. Together the Four I's provide a complete, repeatable way to evaluate a passport, a provider or an entire product line.
