An ESPR gap analysis your board can read

Every domain is rated red, amber or green, with the evidence we could and couldn't find behind each rating. You can hand the summary page to your board without translating it first.

Illustrative example. Your scorecard uses your own categories, markets and answers.

How we score you

The START Framework

Your answers are scored across eight readiness domains, grouped under the five layers of our START framework — Standards, Transparency, Accountability, Responsibility and Transition. The scorecard tells you which layer is holding you back.

S

Standards

We begin with standards because systems need a clear rulebook before they can be built. This layer covers regulatory gap analysis, product and category prioritisation, and the standards that shape ESPR readiness.

T

Transparency

Transparency makes the system visible. This layer covers Digital Product Passport strategy, data architecture, and the product identity needed to connect regulation, product design, and downstream recovery.

A

Accountability

Accountability makes the system testable. This layer covers MRV, product-level evidence, and auditable impact measurement so organisations can prove what they say.

R

Responsibility

Responsibility defines who owns what across the value chain. This layer covers policy advisory, EPR architecture, and governance that can hold up under scrutiny.

T

Transition

Transition turns readiness into action. This layer covers adoption strategy, stakeholder engagement, training, and capability building so organisations can implement change with confidence.

Who the fashion compliance assessment is for

Sustainability, compliance and product leaders at fashion, footwear and textile brands that sell into the EU or UK — whether you're starting from zero or checking work already underway. The assessment is free and there is no obligation to buy anything afterwards.

ESPR readiness assessment FAQs

Because most brands don't yet know what data they hold. The automated score gives you a useful starting point immediately; if you want it checked against your actual data, you can book an optional debrief.

Your answers are used to calculate your scorecard and email your summary. We never share them with third parties or use them in benchmarks that could identify you. You can ask us to delete everything at any point.

About five minutes. If you book a debrief, that's a further 30 minutes.

Yes, and it's often more useful. The assessment checks work already underway against the actual regulatory requirements and shows where the coverage stops. In our reviews of existing DPP and product-data work, coverage is usually a fraction of the fields brands will be asked for.

If you sell into the EU, yes — the obligations follow the product, not the company's address. If you sell only in the UK, the rules are on a slower track but the underlying data work is the same, so the scorecard still gives you a useful baseline.

Nothing, unless you want it to. You keep the scorecard and emailed summary. If you want help closing the gaps identified against your actual data, we'll quote separately.
